These are a decent pair of shin guards for the price ($25 compared to $60-$80 that most shin guards cost). They have a pretty basic design with an elastic cover and foam pads over the shins and instep. A big plus is that they are washable and so they should be easier to clean than the leather kinds.

The downside for me is that they are somewhat uncomfortable to wear. This may be due to the fact that I ordered a Regular size, and at 5′9″ 180 lbs I’m right on the border between Regular and Large sizes. Still, the elastic bands on the bottom of the foot are thick and hard and are uncomfortable to walk on. Also, the instep pad seems to collide with the shin pad, which again may be due to the fact that I’m right on the border.

Overall I’ve been happy with the way they’ve performed during training sessions: they pack a nice kick and protect the shins well.
