These are made of a unique material. It is very stretchy but very tough. These are high quality shorts that work great. No problem not having a side slit. I like the mouthpiece pocket. Standard waist band closer (like hitman, tapout). My only complaint is they are real tight in the crotch and rear. They need to make the crotch about an inch longer. I have large thighs so someone with skinny thighs would have no problem. Otherwise great shorts!
